Why does my Pantheon data get into my iRecord download?

Submitted by Stuart Warrington on

I have used Pantheon to analyse invertebrate assemblages on several nature conservation sites. The data used for these analyses comes from several different recorders, so that we get to investigate the most detailed species data.

I now find that when I download my iRecord data, all of this Pantheon data is included. But Pantheon and iRecord are two different systems, and do two very different things. So how do I stop this happening, and keep my iRecord data 'clean' ?

Thanks.

Verifiers

Submitted by John1964 on

I recorded and photographed a Speckled Wood in my garden. It was verified and subsequently quarantined as I was told “Never seen in area before. Photo please?”  What’s going on. I have recorded hundreds of times. And I have many Speckled Woods in my garden. I live in Southampton. They are common. And I supplied the photo.

Should verifiers accept their own records?

Does anyone know of recording schemes, whether on iRecord or another platform, with any kind of control on accepting one's own records? It smacks of marking one's own homework. iNaturalist uses a 'wisdom of crowds' algorithm for acceptances but iRecord isn't built that way.

In theory the system could check whether the 'CMS User' of the original recorder is the same as that of the verifier trying to change the record's status. But what would it do then?

Record status

Submitted by JonathanWallace on

Hi

I have just received a notification relating to a record I submitted back in 2020 as a 'likely' devil's coach-horse.  (Ocypus olens).  The record has been redetermined as Tasgius sp by someone who I believe is an authority on beetles at the Natural History Museum.  I am of, course, more than happy for the record to be corrected by an expert but the point that is puzzling me is that the record's status is still set as 'awaiting review'.  Is this correct or has the reviewer simply neglected to amend the status following the redetermination?
