General discussion about wildlife recording and about records on the site

Hello. I've been going out and surveying local rivers to me for Balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) , making a unique record for every 15 steps following the river flow, where I find Balsam. No quadrats, just checking for it's presence. I imagine it's tedious for the reviewers and it's fairly tedious to do it this way. I've received training with the Eden Rivers Trust on identifying it/tackling it and am very confident about this species in particular.
Yesterday I started entering data then realised I had not transferred the photos from my phone to my pc.
I minimised irecord transferred my photos then went back to data entry. I spent another couple of hours entering data only to find it wouldn’t save it! This happened once before but I hadn’t spent so long entering data. Soooo frustrated, got to start all over again!
I wondered if after a certain amount of time not adding an entry irecord stopped its connection although I was still able to enter data?
Not sure where to ask this, but perhaps someone here will know!
There are some iRecord sightings that haven't filtered through to the Targeting Revisits site (specifically for the ladybirds). On 24th March, I recorded 12 species in one monad, but only 2 are showing on there. All of the other records from that day appear to have come though ok!
The 'feedback' option is now closed...
Thanks!
I entered some records yesterday, but they're still not showing. However they are there if I go to the old website.
I was wondering, I assume all species classification is drawn from the British Natural History Museum which is presumeably linked to NBN atlas? I have noticed that when researching species classification there can be differences, and I presume this is regional? iNaturalist, for example, differs from the Natural History Museum in some instances. I believe iNaturalist uses several data bases to gather the most up-to-date and accurate taxonomic information. I have always used the Natural History Museum in preference, thinking that this is the most accurate and up-to-date data base, but is it?
Defra/CEH has launched the Asian Hornet watch app for the public to submit sightings of possible Asian Hornets. If you create an account, it points to iRecord and BRC. Nowhere can I find any listing, forum or information related to this notifiable Invasive Alien Species. Please could someone tell me either where to look or advise on what information reporting and record structure is being created so that Asian Hornet Action Team members can inform communities nationally. Thanks.
I am still having no luck trying to record Neotiella albocincta on Irecord - a confirmed first for the UK by bryophilous expert George Grieff. Also I have recently found and had confirmed Roseodiscus formosus and this is not an option on Irecord - can anyone help and allow these to be recorded please - sincere thanks.
I wonder why records do not appear and seem to be questioned when they are verified by the County recorder.
Is iRecord purely for UK wildlife recording ? If so is there a Europe-wide equivalent ? I spend several weeks each year on Tenerife and have become more and more interested in the wildlife I am finding there and would like to record it. This year I have put several records on iRecord as it does allow any location but I am not sure whether these records are of any use or not. With the amount of building still going on in Tenerife I am concerned that a lack of wildlife records could mean important sites being lost to development.
