General discussion about wildlife recording and about records on the site
New user. Seeing a few white butterflies that pass though garden not able to identify. I record sightings as White Unknown. These appear as record of Pieris and get rejected. Do you want records of White Unknown or not?
Why is iRecord no longer showing me my historical records? No matter what I do in 'Explore' 'My records', I am only shown 2023 records. This never used to be the case, but the last twice I have tried it, this has happened. I have even tried the 'old version', but the same happens there too. What is going on?
Just hoping for some guidance on recording froglets on the mobile app. When it comes to 'stage' it only has other/juvenile/adult. Which category would a froglet come under? It's in its final 'adult' form, but not yet reached sexual maturity so would this still count as a juvenile?
Thanks for any help
I went to survey my 5 locations in my designated area but could only complete two of the locations. This was becuase as I was travelling from my 2nd location, to the 3rd location, it started to rain heavily. So I decide to abandon the survey for the other 3 locations. Would I still need to survey those 3 locations, as it should have been my 4th visit, as I have just completed my 5th visit to all locations today.
I recently entered a couple of hoverfly records (now verified) which initially came up with the standard automated "Grid is outside known range" message. However, both species involved were recorded and verified last year from the same locality. How come the now-known range does not seem to include these earlier records - or are they still regarded as mere outliers of a more contiguous range? Or, perhaps, it's a case of a time lag for records to be added to the 'known range'?
My moth entries never seem to get verified. Occasionally one will be queried. Am I wasting my time entering them? As a beginner, it takes many hours to identify and upload. Not very encouraging for a beginner.
I submitted a record for a scarce species which has been accep
I am listed as 'recorder' and 'determiner' in my records -but I haven't identified myself (explicitly) as the determiner -I thought this would be an expert verifier. How do i keep the determiner box empty? thanks
