General discussion about wildlife recording and about records on the site
I wonder why records do not appear and seem to be questioned when they are verified by the County recorder.
Is iRecord purely for UK wildlife recording ? If so is there a Europe-wide equivalent ? I spend several weeks each year on Tenerife and have become more and more interested in the wildlife I am finding there and would like to record it. This year I have put several records on iRecord as it does allow any location but I am not sure whether these records are of any use or not. With the amount of building still going on in Tenerife I am concerned that a lack of wildlife records could mean important sites being lost to development.
Hi there.
I have a particular interest in marine recording.
I have some records on iRecord, input stating that they are determined by me (correct), but entered by someone else, in their name - and these records have been given an incorrect taxon identification.
I also note some records where the verified identication is clearly incorrect.
I am not necessarly able to contact the people who have entered these records directly.
If I add a comment to these records, who recieves that comment? The person who actually entered it? A/the verifier? Someone else?
Trying to upload a record,and i get a message saying.smpAttr:127 renquired.What does this mean.
In 2023 we had a large number of Asian hornets reported. Is there a special entry for invasive species like the Asian hornet?
Hello.
When I first started using iRecord the location of the observation would be generated when the photo was uploaded on the recording page.
After a while this feature stopped working so I resorted to copying the photo location details from the metadata and pasting into the "Enter a spatial reference" box, then, by clicking on the "Location" box, the co-ordinates would be recognised and the location generated automatically.
A couple of months ago I posted on the mobile apps part of this forum about an issue where a large number of DRAFT records had inadvertently been uploaded to iRecord from my phone - I still do not know how. I have nearly finished sorting out the mess but am left with a few Hymenoptera records that were verified but need to be changed as the specimens have now been examined under a microscope. In this case I am unable to contact the verifier, Stuart Roberts, so can’t ask him how best to proceed.
I have used Pantheon to analyse invertebrate assemblages on several nature conservation sites. The data used for these analyses comes from several different recorders, so that we get to investigate the most detailed species data.
I now find that when I download my iRecord data, all of this Pantheon data is included. But Pantheon and iRecord are two different systems, and do two very different things. So how do I stop this happening, and keep my iRecord data 'clean' ?
Thanks.

Hi, we've recently realised that Favolaschia calocera is not recognised on Indicia, does anyone know the reason for this?
