Unauthorised

Today I was entering a number of ladybird records from Lyme Valley Parkway, Newcastle under Lyme. I entered the data, saved the site details. However, when I pressed save it said unauthorised and my records vanished. I have looked in the places that I thight the data might be, but to no avail. What went wrong?

Many thanks,

Consequences of Stripping iNat records of RG status

Submitted by rkl on
Forums

I have recently been investigating criteria for identification of Panorpa to species level. As a part of this I have been looking at 'Rejected' Panorpa records in iRecord that have come from iNat to gain a better understanding of what is being rejected and why. Today I encountered a record that was 'Rejected as incorrect' and on looking at it the misidentification was well-documented by the verifier. So, I went to the record on iNat and added an extra ID to initiate a correction. This caused the record to be downgraded from RG to 'Needs ID'.

Data storage

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the data on iRecord is stored anywhere else?  For example, NBN store (downloadable) data from NatureSpot (Leicestershire and Rutland's own version of iRecord) and there is some data on there which might be from BSBI (Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland) - I have emailed them to ask.  So I was wondering if iRecord data is sent here or anywhere else where it can be downloaded?

Missing iNaturalist transfers

Hello,

I have been looking into downloading data from iRecord which has been transferred there from iNaturalist. Our VC Botanist insisted that some species (Research Grade) were missing and that iRecord was incomplete. On looking into this there do seem to be records missing. Specifically many Taraxacum, including Taraxacum officinale. The difference is quite substantial with some 2,500 observations at Research Grade on iNaturalist and just 45 transferred to across (i checked the date range, source and area were the same filters).

Error message when loading data - Submit OK but file transfer failed

Good morning.

I have just tried to load some sightings but I have got the following message:

An error occurred when the data was submitted.

submit ok but the transfer failed.

Imagecreatefrompng():mgd-png: fatal libpng error: IDAT: CRC error.

Have I broken Irecord?  I load our monthly Country Park wildlife sightings and took photo's of the photo's that other members sent to me.

Thank you in advance.

Records entered at iRecord not syncing with butterflyrecording.org

Submitted by Mesh on
Forums

I have accounts at iRecord and butterfly conservation. Both accounts use the same email address so the records are supposed to sync and this used to be true. Since June this year records that I enter at iRecord are not showing up on butterflyrecording.org. I emailed iRecord about this issue 5 weeks ago but got no response. Is this likely to be caused by an issue at iRecord or butterflyrecording.org? Has anybody else had this issue and found a way to fix it?

iRecord on website changes grid reference for record created with iRecord app

I use the iRecord app to record common insects in my back garden. When I upload and view these same records on the website, consistently the 6-figure grid reference has been changed, with a decrement of 1 in the northing. Why is this happening? It is surely a bug.
