"Rejected" records

Submitted by Nicksand on

As a recent convert to iRecord and starting to dabble in micro moths (eventually after resisting for so long) I am very keen to be sure my entered records are correct so really value the validation function of the site.  Am I right in thinking that any rejected record due to a mis identification will be removed from the database automatically or is it my responsibility to somehow remove it?

thanks for any help on this

Accessing records imported from iNat

Submitted by rkl on

For various reasons that I won't go into here I report some observations through iRecord and others through iNaturalist. It's now pleasing to see the latter making their way into iRecord. My current problem is getting them out again. The records are tagged as 'user not logged in' and the recorder name is 'Roy Lowry' rather than 'Lowry, Roy'. What I want to do is deliver observations made in New Ferry Butterfly Park (a local nature reserve) to Cheshire Wildlife Trust who manage the park.

Same site records

Submitted by Neil hammatt on

In ebird, the hotspot system allows me to enter bird data for a single site over and over throughout time. I can then get a single summary list for that site. Can I do similar on irecord? We are surveying all of the recordable organisms from all taxa at the Holy Loch and would like these all in one location.

Names associated with plants input via Vascular Plant record sheet

Submitted by John P Martin on

If I add more than one observer to a list of plant records and upload them via the BSBI Vascular Plant page it seems to cause problems. If I download them, or look at them for Verification (I am joint BSBI recorder for VC40) then it only shows the last name as the observer.

My records showing all dates of records incorrectly.

Submitted by AJB1958 on

This must have been touched on before, but why are the dates showing on the 'my records' field all out by 2-3 days? This is very confusing when I am trying to check if I've already submitted it or not (I don't always do them strictly in the order they were seen - some are initially more important than others, or I have to i.d. them first). When I click on a record to take me to the details of an individual sighting, the correct date shows on that page. What is going on please?

Moth recording ?

Submitted by robstubbs@aol.com on

I’m curious how moth records get onto iRecord.  My previous VC has almost no records here and the county recorder collates them using a spreadsheet.  Are these records not accessible on this platform and hence are the moth records on iRecord just an incomplete snapshot, depending on the county moth recorders personal preferences ?

Missing Records

Submitted by Jill Cunningham on

I specialize in Plant Galls and have been entering them since 2015. Why are there no unconfirmed 'pink dots' on the NBN maps. Andricus aries, Andricus Gemmeus, Andricus grossulariae seem to be non-existent in the NE - but I've recorded them. The same goes for others like epitrimerus trilobus and even common galls such as eriophyes tiliae. I am disheartened that they are not apparent even as unverified - and that it makes the species look southern.  I haven't looked at all the species I have entered but I do wonder if I'm I wasting my time entering Plant Gall records?
