How do you report potential duplicates?

Submitted by Mesh on

I've been looking at records of Nomad bees lately and have come across a few instances where I may have discovered some duplicates. A recent search brought up these two records Record ID 20488779 and Record ID 20486781 which on the face of it seem to be the same sighting. I searched all records for Nomada flavoguttata and then manually zoomed the map into the Yorkshire/Lancashire area.

Are TikTok Wildlife Videos Helping or Hindering Recorders’ Accuracy?

Submitted by avasinclair on

Hello all, I’ve been seeing more and more short TikTok clips where people show insects, plants, or birds and ask “What species is this?” Those videos sometimes spark lively comment threads, but they also sometimes spread misidentifications or oversimplified IDs.

Grid Reference

Submitted by Neil Marks on

Yesterday I entered an observation then, when exploring all records, I realised that I had given the wrong grid ref.
I edited the record and it now shows the correct grid ref - however, when exploring all records the original, incorrect, grid ref and plotted square have not been updated.
Can this be corrected ?

How to record

Submitted by norman duddy on

When there are numerous small white butterfly species throughout the day where 95% are not settling the few you do get good photos of how do I record these please

Secondly using Merlin identifies a bird 3 or 4 times plus and you see the species but unable to photograph but you can see identifiable colours will these evidences suffice to record accurately
