Several large fallen trees represent only deadwood, evidence of charred and burnt wood present suggest smaller pieces are being burnt. Variable depth of leaflitter. Soil is heavy clay immediately next to pond, discontinuity suggested possible old importation to create pond. Soil lightens and becomes more friable moving away, but always remaining clayey. The area is seasonally waterlogged, possibly with a permanently flowing underground stream. To the east is a clay clapped landfill site, mostly longer grass and some scrub, before meeting sea wall and sharp transition into mud shingle and mud flats. To the west is a major tarmacadam road. Grassed area is relatively undisturbed. 033 calcareous grassland53001100010000000000000000230000000000

Site is heavily used for recreation and dog walking. Elsewhere in park there is evidence of casting on the surface, however this patch of grass and its herbaceous borders lacked any obvious casting when searched for. The soil is clayey and relatively well drained.041 park5790203000000000000000000000000000000

iRecord video guides

A number of video guides to various aspects of iRecord are available, and these are listed below. They have been produced by a range of organisations and do not necessarily represent the views of iRecord, BRC or UKCEH, but all contain useful information and we are grateful to the organisations and individuals who have made them available, and especially to Keiron Derek Brown who has produced many of the videos in this list.

Verifying iNaturalist records

We are now importing records from iNaturalist into iRecord, in order to make them available to national recording schemes and local environmental records centres. iNaturalist records can be downloaded from iNaturalist itself, but the import process to iRecord makes them available for verification, links them to the UK Species Inventory, and to UK grid references and vice-counties.
