learning to find and record in schools

when i went to school (a long time ago) we would have a day or two through the summer finding bugs, researching to identify in the library and recording our finds. it would be great to see that brought back in to schools i think. we had little notebooks to draw and take notes...so much easier with mobile phones and cameras now.
