What is the maximum image size that I can submit on my sightings?

Image Size -- hmmm, confused - downscale not always 1024 max !
Some images on iRecord are 2048 pixels max .... not sure how they managed that .... just checked more of my own images and some are larger than 1024 although not as big as 2048.
So, I am not sure at all what the downscale rules are.
I too am a user and have been pondering on that same question after uploading some large composite photos.
I assume by "image size" you mean pixel dimensions and not MB file size ? If it is MB file size then see further down but to me the key issue is what is the largest pixel size actually displayed.
After looking at my original photo sizes compared to what is actually displayed in the iRecord record it appears that regardless of the original image size (I haven't checked huge files) the uploader downscales to a "maximum" dimension of 1024 pixels.
There is therefore no point in trying to load large high resolution images since there doesn't appear to be any way of zooming in to get an image any larger than 1024 pixels. I would be delighted to find there was a way of zooming in to see fine detail but I can understand with so many records and so much data that photo size has been kept to a minimum.
Consequently, because of the image downscaling, there isn't any benefit to be gained by using files any larger than about 2MB.
