Is there an app?

Submitted by Yolanda Elliott-James on

Hi, I've been logging on this website, but was wondering if there's an app?  I have an app called irecord for recording butterflies and moths and I am logged in with the same email/password on both the website and the app, but the website and app aren't in sync (none of the moths I've logged on this website appear in the app) and the app doesn't recognise the moths when I search for the ones I've seen in order to log them on there).

As a result I am now wondering if they are the same organisation despite having the same name.

Can anyone help? Or recommend an app for logging UK moths and butterflies

Hi Yolanda, The various iRecord apps are for collecting data, not really for viewing the full contents of your account: the website is for this. The iRecord butterflies app only includes a small number of day flying moths. If you wish to use an iRecord-linked app that is capable of recording any British or Irish species, then you will need to switch to the general iRecord app (same login): https://irecord.org.uk/app

So, your app-collected records should be viewable on the website (assuming you are using the same account for both), and the only reason you are not seeing the option to record all moths on the iRecord Butterflies app is because it is not really designed for comprehensive moth recording. Please switch to the general app for that.

Cheers, BRC
