I create a record and then save it and when I look at that record on the web site the Recorder Name is shown as "Chris Chapman" , i.e. [forename] [surname]. I haven't tested all the ways of creating a record but it happens when submitting a Moth List Survey and casual records when attaching an existing photo.
3. Expected Behaviour (what did you expect to happen instead)
I expect Recorder Name to be in the format [surname], [forename] so it is consistent with records created with the web site and the iRecord Butterflies App.

Just simply create any species record through the iRecord App

I can see it first happened with record 36572366 submitted on 22/06/2024 18:44. I can also see that record 36569807 submitted on 22/06/2024 16:13 (submitted c2.5 hours earlier) was correct. I'm raising it now because I'm starting to use Activities and my records are split over two Recorder Names.

Every time I save a species record with the iRecord App

Dual Recorder Names
Chris, thanks for formally raising this. There was some discussion on the subject 9 months ago, but it appears not through the correct process to get a ticket raised, let alone any action.
I gave up using the iRecord app, as it does not follow the formatting guidance of the ‘parent site’. This mean I too now appear as two different people when reviewing some aspects of this site (Surname, Forename // Forename Surname), which is frustrating, unnecessary (and incorrect). I’m hoping there will also be a way that I can to batch change the Recorder Name so i can make all my entries consistent with how iRecord says it should be entered - and all my records appear under the a single name. In the meantime, I look forward to the app being rectified, and I continue to use the web site instead of the app.
At least the Butterfly Conservation app uses the correct Recorder Name format.

Mine was resolved
I was the user that previously raised this. I did not use the "correct" process, because I simply asked a question about whether it was possible. It was not critical to me, as both name formats still showed up in My Records and I don't use the app for most of my recording, but it irritated my sensibilities that I appeared as two different people in Activities. In any case, the issue for me was resolved (I don't know how or by whom), as my records from the main app now come through in the Surname, Forename format.
