Undeleting notificatons
The notifications page must have access to every previous notification within a given date-range, as well as the functionality needed to display them. The information doesn't get discarded, because it can always be viewed in the comments section of the record details page. So I've never really understood why this basic functionality is missing, and find it extremely annoying that the current list can be automatically cleared even though I don't click the acknowledge button. Presumably, there's some sort of expiry date that causes this to happen - but why? Imagine if your email client deleted all your messages after an expiry date over which you had no control, and then gave you no option to retrieve them...
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to filter records by most recent activity, either. None of the various dates attached to the record (such as last-edited), seem to be affected by notifications or by the comments added by verifiers. All of the necessary information is clearly available, since the record details page displays a date above every listed comment - but there doesn't seem to be any way for users to access that in a filter. I also looked at a downloads file to see if that includes any additional details that could be used to sort by most recent activity - but it appears not.
I would love to be proved wrong, but it appears the admins are currently the only people who have access to this sort of information.
I also deleted notifications by accident and wish to undelete - can anyone please advise?
