Irecord app - simplicity plea

Submitted by charlie on

I've just been upgraded to what I assume is the latest version 6.2.0 (207) and have found that I now have to click twice to add a record!

This is a plea to keep things simple - can we please go.go.back to.to.the single click + button. It's hard enough in the field as it is and the single click add was a joy.

And cacan We please default to stage not recorded unless specified.

It's fast becoming quicker to use a notebook and pencil again.

I didn't think we had to provide photos of everything we see, my record from 27th April with 4 species had 2 species accepted as there were photos and the other 2 rejected marked with a red cross and comment 'We do not think it is a green veined white species'. Surely the level of records I have submitted have verified I know my butterflies! Would like some feedback please

Hi Sarah.

Did the record definitely have the phrase "we do not think it is a green veined white species"?

I had a look at butterfly records not accepted for 27th April and found a Green-veined White and a Small White record, both listed as "rejected as unable to verify". The verifier has given a reason for this by adding the comment "Thank you for submitting your record. Unfortunately we are unable to accept this record because the grid reference does not correspond to the given location."

So the issue is not that he or she is questioning your ID, it is the location data that appears to be incorrect. if it was submitted via the app, maybe you had moved from the original place you were recording and the app then recorded the grid reference of the place you were when the record was submitted, not the place you were when you actually saw it?

Why do 'upgrades' always mean an actual downgrade? Now instead of a simple one press to add a record we have an annoying and quite honestly bizarre list come up that we have to select from. Please return to just one click to add thank you!
