Redirecting records to the right geogrpaphical area

Submitted by JudyW on

I have found a few records have come through for me to verify which have been automatically flagged as incorrect because they are outside my geographical location.  However, the records are correct (photo included) for the area concerned - just incorrect for the area I monitor.  is there any way I can redirect them to the right geographical area - I don't want to make them as incorrect when they aren't.

Thank you!

Presumably they have come to you because the grid reference is incorrect? If so probably the best thing to do would be to add a comment to the records saying something along those lines. e.g. "this record is correctly identified but the grid reference doesn't match the location name - please edit the grid reference so it can be verified for the correct area" The recorder should then get a notification that a comment has been added to the record and will hopefully log in and change it.

If the record has come through from another survey, e.g. iNaturalist or BirdTrack then the observer won't have signed in to an iRecord account so won't see any comments. In that case it is best to reject the record using the "rejected as this record could not be verified" option (the red cross in a white box) as opposed to the rejected because the record is incorrect option.
