Enter records of moth-trap intruders (no moths please!)

For more information see the moth-trap intruders Facebook group.

We strongly recommend you log in to an account on iRecord and then join the Moth Trap Intruders activity to benefit fully from this recording form. You can add records without logging in but they will not get displayed as part of the "Moth Trap Intruders" Activity. This form is for recording "moth-trap intruders", that is any species found in a moth trap that is not a moth! Please do not add records of moths to this form - moth records should go on the iRecord moths form.
For trapping records, please enter the date the trap was set (turned on), not the date for the follwing morning (if the trap was run overnight).

Enter the recorder's name, if different.

Optionally enter your sampling method (i.e. type of trap or recording method)

Please enter all the species you saw at one site on a single day. Then move to the Where was it? tab before submitting your records.
For the quantity, do not enter a zero to mean "present but not counted" - if the quantity was not counted, leave this column blank (if you use a zero iRecord will interpret that as meaning the species was absent).
Step 1
Select a species first

Click in the species box and start typing a species name (English or scientific), the more characters the better. Use * as a wildcard, and use name abbreviations (e.g. 2+3 characters for Genus+species). A list of suggestions will pop up from which you can select with mouse or arrow keys and tab.
Enter the quantity seen as a number (or leave blank to simply indicate presence), and select the life stage plus the sex if available.
Enter who identified, and the determiner names (if different from the recorder name given).
Add a comment if you like, for example an approximate quantity or significance of the record. Tab between the attribute fields.

Provide the name of the site. Do not enter a postal address as the information you provide will be visible to others.

Or simply click on your rough position on the map.
