Rarity Notification on Verification screen.

Would it be possible to allow verifiers to set alerts for records in their vice counties (say), so that when certain taxa appear for verification more information about that taxon are available to the verifier.

I keep thinking how useful it would be to know if a record was a 'first' for the VC. Or if the taxon was 'scarce' or 'rare' in the system, based on number of tetrads or monads with that taxon recorded. It already exists in the form of the screening  tool that gives the thumbs up or down, but that is a crude statistic.

Cheers

We intend to review aspects of the record cleaner rules this year, and the need for flags for rare species has been raised by a number of people so is definitely on the agenda. A 'first for VC' approach is more tricky since it depends on access to data outside of iRecord itself; however, one of the outcomes from the recent 'SUpporting Science' project with Butterfly Conservation is a mechanism for verifiers to be able to import their own set of additional rules, which may provide a way of addressing this for those verifiers that wish to use it. This is currently being tesed and will be available later in the year.

Thanks.

I meant 'new on iRecord' for the VC.
