Some of you may have received notifications today about records being set to "not accepted", with the following message:
- "Record status changed to not accepted - unable to verify from legacy status D (dubious)"
The reason for this is that there were a set of old records (mostly from 2014) that had been queried at that time, using an older procedure in iRecord whereby the records had been flagged as "dubious". This is equivalent to our current method for flagging a record as "queried". However, under the older system the "dubious" records did not have any actual verification status - they were not accepted or rejected, and neither were they in the pending category. This meant that they were effectively invisible to verifiers, and was also causing problems in that some of the records were being sent to NBN Atlas with no verification status at all.
The notifications you have received list the records that we have now set to be "not accepted - unable to verify", on the grounds that they were queried many years ago and no response was received to the query. If you wish to revisit any of these records and query them again, or accept them if you think they are acceptable, you are welcome to do that, but our assumption is that if they were considered dubious at the time they are best seen as "not accepted".
