Incorrect images displaying for verifier ?

Submitted by RobertWatson on

Of the last 3 sets of Moth records I have submitted I have had a large proportion of the records not accepted, incorrect id , with the remark to resubmit as another unrelated species.  These are not tricky species pairs but different families.  When I look at the not accepted records they are showing the image I intended to submit.  I can only presume the verifier is seeing a different image.  Has there been an issue with the system, or could I or the verifier have done something wrong ?

Thanks, Robert

I've had a quick look at some of your rejected moth reocrds, and all of the records I looked at had the verifier asking you to resubmit as Smoky Wainscot (as opposed to different suggestions for each record). The fact that the comment was the same suggests to me that the issue isn't that the verifier is seeing different images for each record, I would suggest that there might have been one record (perhaps not even one of yours but from a similar time period) that needed to be redeterrmined as Smoky Wainscot, but he accidentally clicked on the box for a whole batch of records instead of one individual record, which has then results in all of that batch being rejected with the comment to redetermine as Smoky Wainscot. I would add a comment to one of the records pointing it out and he can hopefully find out what happened and correct it.

All verifiers of iRecord are high taxonomic skill level to identify certain species groups. Please make sure and your photo has the key characteristic features to identify the species of moth you are talking about. I also agree that make comments in the records can help the identification process. If the problem persist, please contact directly the iRecord team: irecord@ceh.ac.uk
