1. I record app
2. When trying to create a new record pressing on the “camera icon” only accesses my camera, but not the gallery to select photo’s. First time I tried to use it today it asked me if it could access my photo’s and I mistakenly pressed select photo’s only which wouldn’t allow me to access any at all. I had to uninstall the app to resolve this and select the all photo’s option, but now when i press on it i just go to camera. If I press the plus to add a record, upon picking a species i can add photo’s via the gallery in the normal way. I often create records using my photo’s from the gallery first not knowing what something is then add an ID later once i have keyed something out.
3. I expect to be able to add records with an image first via the gallery, then add record detail after as it was before.

Thanks for the feedback. We have now improved the image quality so that images will come out with larger resolutions and higher quality. This will be part of the v6.0.1 release.
Regarding using the camera button to select images from the gallery, we opted to optimise the experience for most users who will use this to capture species photos while in the field. We could add an app setting to allow users to select their preferred button action.

Thanks for the response. I can work around the camera button now by just adding a record picking a general family then adding the photos that way, so not the end of the world. Thanks
I am noticing a degradation in image quality once i do manage to upload images to the record. Is that a function of the new app to enable more images to be uploaded? I’m just concerned that it may reduce the chance of records being verified to species. If I’ve had help on an Id using a better quality image, but the uploaded one precludes a verifier from being able to see the necessary fine detail of features that would be a shame.
