It's early days for the AI identification
Weevils are notoriously difficult to identify precisely - I'm guessing that there isn't a lot of data for the AI to work on, as not many people record weevils, so it 'thinks' some things are easy to identify when in fact they are not? Weevils often need very tiny details of bristles etc that a whole-insect photo isn't going to show. I've had it give me high percentages for things that I know are ridiculously incorrect, mostly things that have probably not been recorded very much. But it does very often give really helpful hints that can then be checked elsewhere. The verifier will be far more knowledgeable than the AI for things like weevils.
Given an 89% identification of a weevil only for it to be rejected. How accurate is this?
