Deletion of Pending Records

Submitted by Will Langdon on

I initially posted this on the 'How to' forum, but having realised it is not just an issue I am having, rather an app issue that a number of people are having, I'm adding it here.

It would be great if possible to get a timescale for restoration of pending records.

I also wondered whether it would be advised not to use the app until these are restored - is there a risk that old pending records get overwritten or anything like that if so?

1. App Name (which app are you using)

iRecord App.

2. Issue Description (clearly explain the problem you’re experiencing)

All of my pending records were wiped following a recent update (change in appearance of the app - so I guess an update). I first noticed this on 16/05/2025, but it could have happened a day or so earlier. Interestingly the app still has my old saved locations when I navigate to 'manage saved locations' so it is not just all cached data that has been lost.

3. Expected Behaviour (what did you expect to happen instead)

All of my old pending records to be present when I opened the app in the 'pending' tab.

4. Steps to Reproduce (list the steps someone can follow to see the issue)

  1. Open iRecord App

  2. Navigate to 'Pending' tab

  3. No pending records visible, there should be many from a large number of separate dates.

5. Date/Time Issue Observed (when did you first notice the issue, provide a specific date if possible)

First noted on 16/05/2025, could have happened the day before. It was the first occasion that I opened iRecord after a recent update (change in appearance of the app).

6. Frequency of the Issue (is it consistent or intermittent)

Permanent (no change since first appeared).

7. Screenshots or Screen Recording (optional – helps illustrate the issue clearly)

-

8. App Version (which version of the app are you using, check in the app settings or app store)

V 6.2.0

9. Device (what phone or tablet are you using, include model and brand)

iPhone SE

10. Operating System Version (The Android or iOS version running on your device)

iOS 18.3.2

11. System Update Status (are any pending Android/iOS updates)

Yes, iOS 18.5 not installed.

12. Available Device Storage (how much free storage space does your device currently have)

54.41 GB of 64 GB used.

There is a fix now in the pipeline to bring back the pending records. It is currently in Beta testing, and you can join the Beta and try it out by following these instructions:

1. Upload any pending records you currently have.

2. Follow this link on your iOS device - it will ask to install the TestFlight app and join the Beta.

3. Install the Beta app using TestFlight. Once installed, open the app and check that all the pending records are present.

4. Upload the pending records.

5. Let me know how it went.
