1. App Name (which app are you using)
iRecord App
2. Issue Description (clearly explain the problem you’re experiencing)
Invertebrates, fungi, and plants added in a Species List Survey have a default count of 0, which suggests that they were absent. Stage is not filled in. I have locked Stage to Adult, but this is only being carried through to invertebrates. Other taxa have Stage blank.
3. Expected Behaviour (what did you expect to happen instead)
Previously, count defaulted to 1 for organisms that were usually counted as individuals (most animals) or N/A for organisms that are usually not counted as individuals (like plants and fungi). I also thought it defaulted to the commonest stage for things like insects, but that might be me misremembering things.
4. Steps to Reproduce (list the steps someone can follow to see the issue)
Add a Species List Survey > Add Species > enter a species. It is added to the list with a Count of 0. Unless it is a bird, in which case the Count is 1.
5. Date/Time Issue Observed (when did you first notice the issue, provide a specific date if possible)
Noticed 2026-10-09
6. Frequency of the Issue (is it consistent or intermittent)
Every time so far, but I only noticed it this morning, after app upgrade.
7. Screenshots or Screen Recording (optional – helps illustrate the issue clearly)
8. App Version (which version of the app are you using, check in the app settings or app store)
Latest version of the app
11. System Update Status (are any pending Android/iOS updates)
No.
Thanks. I will have a look into this.
