Confusion when I view "All Records"....think I need to understand the system bit better (?!)

Submitted by mjsliley on

Grateful if someone can explain: When I want to explore 'ALL RECORDS' under the explore dropdown, all I seem to see, at least in my immediate recording area of West Mids, South Staffs and Worcs is masses of records for Harlequin Ladybirds and an apparent bias towards shieldbugs!! Why is this....and why can't I see records for ALL taxa. Same seems to happen if I want to see records for my preferred taxa, so I can compare and contrast with my own records.

Also - and related to this: I am in "training mode". I know I can switch out of this. Again, as a relative iRecord 'novice' - needs explaining to me WHY I should be remaining in "training mode" at all. I regard myself as reasonably proficient at I/D, particularly botanical, ornigtological and some invertebrates e.g. lepidoptera.

Related to the above.....is this why I can't view ALL taxa? - because I need to switch out of the 'training mode'?

Any help and advice gratefully received.

You can switch out of this at any time.  My Accout -> Edit -> <deactivate traiining mode> -> Submit.

ALL RECORDS lists everything by default in date order.  So you may be seeing what someone else has just entered.  Don't know how this interacts with Training Mode.  Try entering a species name at the head of the lists and see if it just displays that.  Remember that all records for all taxa in all locations is a few million,  Look for Anthrocoris nemorum - that will give a handleable subset to check if the system is working.
