We're being deluged by spam. On the title page we read "Protected by Spam Master"; that doesn't seem to be working. Reading Forum posts is now rather tedious ploughing through the trash. I just had to state the obvious.
Removed spam
I have removed spam in forums now. After I installed "Spam Master", it was working fine until last week. We are continuously monitoring and improving system but if you notice any spam in forum, please email to BRC and we will response from it.
Spam still there
I note that posts by username Grinna made two month ago are still on the system in several topic areas. These should be deleted.
That so-called captcha for the login is ludicrously crude and easy to by-pass. I really hope the site isn't paying anything for such laughably poor "protection".
Why aren't the admins embarrassed by the impression this gives of the site? These forums will often be the first thing new users see. If no one can be bothered to regularly clean up all the junk, what does this say about how users' personal data and records are going to be treated?
What I find most baffling is that the forum software itself provides no way for other users to flag these problematic posts. How is the "Spam Master" (?!) ever going learn how to do its job properly if it can't get feedback from genuine, trusted users who are fully invested in the site?
