For various reasons that I won't go into here I report some observations through iRecord and others through iNaturalist. It's now pleasing to see the latter making their way into iRecord. My current problem is getting them out again. The records are tagged as 'user not logged in' and the recorder name is 'Roy Lowry' rather than 'Lowry, Roy'. What I want to do is deliver observations made in New Ferry Butterfly Park (a local nature reserve) to Cheshire Wildlife Trust who manage the park. Using 'Explore All Records' with location set to 'New Ferry*' and recorder set to 'Lowry*' excluding unaccepted records and filtering 'after 01/01/2022' I currently get 147 observations. I would love to get these into a form where I can e-mail them to CWT but I can't find a way to do this. I tried the 'download' option but couldn't get more than 64 observations, which I guess is because records sourced through iNat have been excluded. Is there any way I can get all 147 records out of iRecord?

Many thanks. I was out recording with RECORD on the Zoo estates yesterday and was discussing this issue with them and they are giving it some thought. One mechanism as you say is to export separately from both platforms then merge the result. I guess I could get an 'ideal' format from the people at the butterfly park (included fields etc.) then do a bit of Excel macro writing to generate that from the two export formats. I've not checked, but I would be amazed if they are the same.....

After resisting for ages, I've just started trying out iNat. It's great seeing records coming through from iNat to iRecord and being validated by county recorders, though I agree with comments elsewhere about the potential for dodgy records moving in too fast. It would be really good to be able to link our iNat account and iRecord accounts, so we could download both together (as above) but also so we could edit anything that got through too fast, with errors. The data transfer doesn't include Determiner info (suspect it would be tricky, as it isn't one specific field) which can be a significant part of the record. If we could link the accounts, we could just edit in the Determiner.
It's rather weird having information with your own name on, that you can't edit. Good that searching on Explore All Records picks up both iNat and iRecord even when surname and first name are the opposite way round (decided to use my own name on iNat so the county recorders would know who the records were from). Appreciate it might be complicated to fix though.
Hi Roy, this isn't something i have tried, though i am in a similar situation in that i have and do use both systems. When records are imported from iNaturalist there is currently no established means to link the two accounts, while you provide your actual name many don't.
I believe on iRecord you can only download your own records (read records linked to your iRecord account so nothing sourced from iNaturalist) unless you have alternative permissions from an Indicia project or are a VCR/LERC. So at the moment i suspect you can't download them yourself?
Work-arounds;
On a somewhat related note i am currently downloading and processing iNaturalist data for the LCR which will include your records. I would be happy to provide you with a copy though they will not be filtered to just those included on iRecord.
I do wonder if the iRecord team could add an option for users to self-link their iRecord accounts to iNaturalist using the iNaturalist user_id which is available via the api (the email address typically used is not) and therefore to the transfer process.. However, no doubt that would be substantial additional development work which is not funded..
