Identification

Not terribly impressed up to now. Your site suggests a picture of a peacock butterfly is 17% likely to be a red admiral!! What’s that about?

also an “expert” rejects the id of what is clearly a small tortoiseshell.

I don’t see much point in contributing if you cannot identify relatively common species correctly.

I just had a look at recent records for Small Tortoiseshell.  I can see a few rejections, but usually for poor pictures.  What was the ID of your record (8 digit no on the left of the listing)?

Sorry, I don’t have that information. As for the quality of the picture, I think that is a pretty feeble excuse. I am no expert but I could clearly identify it with complete certainty.

It would be very useful if this app was a UK WILDLIFE ID APP as well.

My administrator won't allow downloading the likes of inaturalist for example. Please add an ID feature.

iRecord exists to submit records of things you have identified.

Adding an ID feature sounds simple but would be a massive undertaking, either in terms of recruiting a team of experts or developing artificial recognition software (which wouldn't work well for many difficult groups). It would also be a duplication of the effort made by the various other ID apps already out there.
